You spent nine months taking your time to carefully eat the right foods and get the right amount of everything into your diet for your baby. Now that your bundle of joy is here, who has time to eat, much less eat healthily and get rid of pregnancy weight? You aren't alone. Many moms find themselves not losing the extra weight as fast as they would like.

Have someone else prepare your food, if you can. Freeze meals ahead of time that are good for you, not just quick to make.
2Snack on healthy food, such as fruits and vegetables. Eat many small meals a day so you aren't tempted to over-eat at mealtime.
3Exercise. Even if you can't go to the gym, you can walk while pushing the stroller or following a workout DVD while baby is playing.
4Breastfeed. Breastfeeding can burn between 500 to 800 calories a day. You will have to eat a little extra to keep enough calories for the baby, but they seem to come off more easily for nursing women. When you cut back on or stop breastfeeding, you will need to also cut back on the extra food.
5Get out of the house. Sitting around the house for days at a time is not good for you. Get out and go to the mall, shopping or to the park to walk. Your baby will enjoy a change in scenery and going for a ride in the stroller.
6Take your time. It took you nine months to gain this weight, and it will probably take about that much time to lose it. Losing too much weight too fast is not healthy for you or your baby if you are breastfeeding.
